Meet the Driftwood Team

"Like everyone, I need to reset my professional compass."
It's exciting to think that the first of our three Outdoor Fitness and Yoga Retreats at Driftwood is less than two weeks away! I'm grateful and honored to be collaborating with the spirited Driftwood team on this retreat:

Rob Gallo, the mastermind behind Community Core and the visionary for the Driftwood retreat space;

Bri Gallo, the heartbeat of Driftwood's youth leadership camps, who also holds an incredible amount of space for beginner and seasoned travelers alike through Driftwood Adventure Treks;

...as well the amazing staff at Driftwood - Jon and Katie.

Most of all, I'm really curious and excited to partner for the first time with my amazing adventure friend and fellow climber/mountain biker/lover of all things FUN, Colin Aina, of 212 Health & Performance.

I met Colin last summer at Driftwood, where we both attended a super-charged and enlivening drum, dance, and yoga retreat with Sidy Maiga. He and his sweetheart Hannah both blew me away with their authentic, spirited, fun-loving approach to life.

In Colin's words...

I'm very excited to share my experience as a coach and with new people.

My approach to these retreats is quite reciprocal; we all get bogged down by our day to day routines and although we may have a dream job that we love, we get complacent with the monotony and familiarity of it all. I've been fortunate in many ways to have a career that puts me in front of people from literally all walks of life and have worked with many of the same people for over 10 years.

Like everyone, I need to reset my professional compass. For us all, walking into the same environment day after day becomes familiar and to an extent I feel that that starts to facilitate redundancy, leading to monotony. Simply taking what I love to do and offering it to people that I wouldn't have the opportunity to meet, and at such a great location will further keep my passion alive.

I hope that those attending feel just a little bit better, recharged and ready to go home being the best "them' they can be.

We have just a couple of spots left for our July 6-8 weekend, and we're taking early registration for July 27-29 and August 24 - 26.

"I met with Colin on my first day and we talked for a while about my shoulder, and where I was in my recovery. Then he put me through a “little” workout. It was really hard – and I loved it! I signed up for the 5 weeks, and immediately signed up for a year once that was over. Colin listened to everything I said on that first day, and pushed me further than I thought possible and my shoulder has never felt better! There isn’t much I can’t do and for a while there, I didn’t think that would ever be possible."
