An alternative to gift wrap

12/24/2014

On Christmas Eve, I took myself out to the movies to see WILD (highly recommend!!) and then came home and spent a few hours wrapping and painting my gifts.

I used recycled newsprint, some old Prismacolor markers I've had since grade school, and some white acrylic paint. So incredibly cathartic.

I think next year, I may just wrap empty boxes and paint them :)

I just discovered your work by watching one of your Youtube videos on scarf painting. I've just become interested in it. It, and your work, was great to watch. So I went hunting for more information and see that I may have bad timing. Seems like you're headed off for other areas. Oh well. I'm sure your talent will serve you well in whatever direction you take. Good luck!

Ha! I have to laugh at myself. I found your old blog that said you were moving on to different things. When it directed me to the new blog and I saw no posts since 12/14... and the only silk painting shown was something you'd been working on from before that ... I made the assumption you had left silk painting. So I wrote that "fond farewell" above. Then I found your Facebook page and see that you're still very much involved in silk painting. I must have interpreted something wrong in your old blog. My apologies for the eulogy-like comment, above. :)
